Competitive Grant Program
New Energy Technologies Competitive Grant Program
 
Connecticut's Office of Policy and Management (OPM) is sponsoring a $10,000 grant award competition for innovative energy conservation or renewable energy technologies that are not yet commercialized.  Applicant must be a Connecticut based company of 30 or fewer employees or, if an individual, must be a Connecticut resident.  Grants are intended to move technologies toward commercialization.  Download PDF document for details.

Invitation to Bid
Rentschler Field Parking and Traffic Circulation Clearing Phase
 

The Office of Policy and Management is expecting to shortly receive a donation of land from United Technologies Corporation for construction of permanent parking and related access to support events at the Rentschler Field Stadium located in East Hartford, CT (“Stadium”). 

 

The first phase of construction of these permanent parking and access areas is the cutting and removal of trees, all in accordance with the terms and requirements of the information contained the Invitation to Bid. 

 

The contract awarded in response to the Invitation to Bid (ITB) is expected to commence in December, 2009.

Request for Proposals for Various Management, Operational, and Promotional Services for the Connecticut Convention Center and the Stadium at Rentschler Field
    

        The State of Connecticut, Office of Policy and Management (“OPM”) and the Capital City Economic Development Authority (“CCEDA”) (collectively, the “State”) are seeking proposals from qualified and experienced firms interested in providing various management, operational and promotional services for the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Connecticut and the Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.

 

Interested firms have the option of submitting proposals for one or more of the following services contained in Volume I and/or Volume II of this RFP:

 

Volume I

 

a)    Convention Center Building Management  (including event booking)

b)    Convention Center Sales and Marketing

c)    Stadium Building Management

d)    Stadium Event Booking

e)    Stadium Marketing and Sponsorship

 

Volume II

 

      f)   Convention Center Catering and Concessions

 

Firms are strongly encouraged to attend a pre-bid meeting scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in Boardroom A at the Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Boulevard, 4th floor in Hartford.  The purpose of this meeting will be to answer any questions pertaining to the proposal documents and to tour the facilities.  Tours of the Stadium at Rentschler Field will be available following the pre-bid meeting and Convention Center tour.

 

Proposals submitted in response to this RFP must be submitted to the following address by 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, November 30, 2009: Mr. Anthony L. Lazzaro Jr., Deputy Director/General Counsel, Capital City Economic Development Authority, 100 Columbus Boulevard, Suite 500, Hartford, CT  06103-2819.

Funding Opportunity Announcement

Supplemental Regional Bonus Pool Program

 

   The Office of Policy and Management has released a Funding Opportunity Announcement for the Supplemental Regional Bonus Pool Program, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.

 

   Connecticut municipalities are invited to partner to apply for competitive sub-grants to implement energy projects that will be of a regional benefit. As required under the guidelines of the Federal American Reinvestment and Recovery Act Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (ARRA EECBG), towns will be directed to use funding under the Supplemental Regional Bonus Pool Program to reduce fossil fuel emissions in a manner that is environmentally sustainable and, to the maximum extent practicable, maximize benefits for local and regional communities; reduce the total energy use of the eligible entities; and improve energy efficiency in the building sector, the transportation sector and other appropriate sectors.  Application approval under this grant program will be based on criteria that prioritize projects including energy saved, renewable energy generated, green house gas reduction, estimated job creation, the regional impact of the aforementioned categories and if other funding is leveraged through the use of these funds. 

 

   Applications for this program are due to the Office of Policy and Management, Regional Supplemental Bonus Pool Program, Energy Management Unit, 450 Capitol Ave., MS#52ENR, Hartford, Connecticut 06106-1379 by 2:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2010.  The Grant Application Package and required documents, in Word version, are available on the OPM website at www.ct.gov/opm/energy/arra/eecbg.
